Driversity Driving School History (1994 - 1998)
1994
The Driversity™ concept was born. Efforts put forth to create the business concept and driver education courses that would be embraced by California's teenagers. The curriculum was developed and first training car purchased.
1995
Official licensing obtained and classrooms in Dublin and San Leandro established.
1996
Driversity™ quickly outgrew the locations in both Dublin and San Leandro. New facilities were obtained to accommodate full classes. Additional instructors were hired to conduct the lessons. The Concord location was born and located off Willow Pass Road.
1997
Driversity™ continues to expand and opens a new location in Alameda, California. Additional instructors are hired to accommodate the influx in business. San Leandro finds a permanent home. At the end of the year and beginning of the next year Driversity™ in Concord moves out to Buchanan Air Field complex off Marsh Drive. This is where we remain today - 288 Sally Ride Drive, Concord, CA 925.691.4440.
1998
Driversity™ continues to grow at an accelerated rate. New facilities are found for Dublin. We were located on Dublin Blvd., with a beautiful classroom location. . A larger classroom was established. Programs revamped to keep up with the changing laws. Ms. Bonnie Kirk takes over the San Leandro and Alameda locations.
