Checks will be accepted with:
The correct business name - DRIVERSITY OF ANTIOCH
The correct name and address imprinted
The correct phone number imprinted
The name of the bank and imprinted check number
Student Name on the Memo Line
Signer's State ID Number
THE CHECK WRITER'S FAILURE TO CONTACT THE OFFICE IMMIDIATELY REGARDING KNOWLEDGE OF AN INCOMING NSF OR CLOSED ACCOUNT OR STOP PAYMENT CHECKS WILL BE AGRESSIVELY COLLECTED AND PROSECUTED. CONTACTING THE OFFICE MAY MITIGATE SOME OF THE COLLECTION FEES
FORGED OR FRAUDULENT CHECKS WILL BE PROSECUTED BUT IT IS DOUBTFUL THE WRITER WILL CONTACT THE OFFICE WITH KNOWLEDGE OR ADMISSION OF DOING SO
Make check writers aware that:
All checks given to this company (or any company) are subject to "Check 21." Because of the time sensitive nature of this business, any check written for any phase of driver education or training will place has a 14 day hold on the issuance of any certificate. The 14 day period begins the next business day the check is written. This hold period does not apply to money orders, cashiers checks, cash, or credit card.
Knowingly writing and presenting this company with a worthless check will result in possible expulsion from the program. Certificates, if issued, will be canceled. Program credit or completion will result in a hold on the program until ALL checks and fees are paid. Failure to pay any fees associated with worthless check writing are treated the same as the worthless check. Any returned check will result in one or more of the following:
1 - A $25 fee for the first NSF or Stop Payment
2 - A $35 fee will result in the 2nd or subsequent checks
AND
3 - Submission to the Contra Costa District Attorney
4 - Submission to collection agencies
5- Small claims action with treble damages of up to $1,500 or the maximum allowed by law. |
