Use the following table to determine what you need to accomplish or finish what you've already started. The numbers under the "you need" column are linked directly to the page that contains additional information.

Step 1 is driver education. This can be done live or online. Step 2 is enrollment in a driver training course. This can be done simultaneously with step 1. Step 3 is the driver training course.

You have not taken driver education, training, or any course in driver education. You do not have any certificates of completing any course.

Complete driver ed, enroll in training, get your permit, then take driver training.

Step 1, 2, and 3

You have taken driver education, have your certificate of completion but need a certificate to get your permit.

Obtain the training certificate, get your permit, then take driver training.

Step 2, and 3

You have taken driver education, have your certificate of completion, have your certificate of enrollment in driver training, and have obtained your permit.

Complete the driver training course with a licensed instructor.

Step 3

The Steps On a perfect day... ok... it may take more than one perfect day... :-)

Step 1:
You decide which driver education course you want to take (live, online, or a combination of both). You can check live class dates here. Take that course and receive a certificate of completion. This is one of two certificates you will need to obtain your permit.

Step 2:
To obtain your permit you must enroll into a driver training course. Hopefully ours :-). There are a couple of ways to obtain this required certificate. Please Note that this enrollment form is for Antioch and Concord locations ONLY. For the Dublin go here. For the Alameda or San Leandro locations go here.

Method 1:	If you take driver education with us you can request that this form be included when we issue your completion certificate for driver education. This request can be made here.
Method 2:	If you completed driver education with another company you can request this form be sent to you. completion certificate for driver education. This request can be made here.

With the certificates in hand (read what you need to take to DMV here) go to DMV and get your permit.

Step 3:
With permit in hand you will need to take and complete the driver training course. You can read more about that course here. You can schedule your lesson here or by calling the Concord office here. You will be issued a certificate of completion on the last lesson unless you pay by check. Paying for a lesson by check will delay the issuance of a certificate by 10 business days.
